If your poll claim is right, why not just hold an election now?

Re: “Legitimacy of coup regime is none of your business”, Satish Sehgal, Jun 10e Letters.

Khun Satish is correct that it is not our business to interfere with the workings of the Thai government. But I am curious about a few things. Is it now illegal in Thailand for farangs to comment on or offer an opinion about such matters in English language newspapers?
If it is, please advise us and we will behave ourselves in accordance with Thai law.
The other thing that I am curious about is your citing recent polls to inform us that 80 per cent of Thais support the present government. Assuming that those polls are accurate, wouldn’t it be wise to hold an election at the earliest possible date to get their man legally elected and relieve the heat from the international community and get foreign investors interested in Thailand again?
