Monk should be swiftly brought to justice

SUNDAY, JUNE 19, 2016

Much has been publicised on the Dhammachayo case.

The case is not new to me, as many Thai Buddhist monks, with the yellow robe as evil in disguise, cheat and mislead their blind believers.
Only a handful of no-name monks have ever been brought to justice, and then only ending in disrobing and a slap on the wrist. Such malpractice goes on and on and the public hears this very often.
The nation is undeniably divided, no matter politics or religion. Unless Dhammachayo is swiftly brought to justice, his case will serve as a precedent that the rich and powerful are above the law.
Since we cannot trust the Buddhist Council to carry out checks and balances, as they too might be blinded by money politics. The faithful should choose wisely which monks to respect and give alms and donations to.
