Drivers should be thanking cyclists, not condemning them

Re: “The lycra-clad menace on Bangkok’s roads”, Letters, yesterday.
It is unbelievable to me that someone can moan about people riding bikes or motorbikes in a city where most roads are choked with traffic and the people are choked by toxic exhaust fumes.
Surely Khun Yingwai has ample time to notice all this while he sits for hours each day at a standstill in his air-conditioned car, wasting time, space and resources.
You don’t have to say thank-you to these people who choose not to drive cars and create even more traffic for you to sit in. Just don’t moan about it.
There are other people on the road besides you.
