Chokchai Samakkee School has offered only B80,000 towards medical costs and teacher Paithoon Klaengkratok another B100,000. Both have admitted their responsibility. They must be held accountable and cover Narudee’s medical expenses in full, plus related lodging, travel, meals, etc for her caretaker until her health is completely back to normal.
They should also pay a hefty amount for the pain and suffering caused by the ill-mannered, ill-tempered teacher. If the teacher or school pleads inability to cover the costs, then they may have to declare bankruptcy.
The regional police chief should look into why the local cops have not charged the teacher with assault since the student’s mother lodged a complaint on August 9. The school might have strong connections with the local police and be hindering investigations.
