Ayodhya Links is ready to welcome world-class guests to AMAZING KINGDOM OF THAILAND

Bangkok, December 29, 2016 - The “Amazing Kingdom of Thailand: World Club Championship 2016” hosted by Ayodhya Links in Ayutthaya will be held from December 3 - 9, 2016.

The “Amazing Kingdom of Thailand: World Club Championship 2016” is a joint effort across many sectors to showcase business potential to businessmen, who participate in the event. The Championship will promote Thailand’s art and culture, traditions and tourist attractions besides highlighting the fact that it is one of the major destinations for world-class golf in order to encourage economic growth in the Kingdom. To enhance the experience of the participants, the selected activities are planned for showcase the rich heritage and history of Thailand. The players will get a glimpse of some of the finest Thai traditions, arts, local food and attractions of the two capitals of the Kingdom – Ayutthaya and Bangkok.

Ayodhya Links, one of the most exclusive courses in the world has its unique design with magnificent surroundings, provides a tough challenge to golfers. Blending in its 700-rai landscape which is larger than other normal golf courses, the well-designed elements in the golf course create its own splendid environment. Ayodhya Links is a member of Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program (ASCP) which is education and certification program that helps golf courses protect our environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf, avoid any harmful impact from chemicals, and support the local organic farms by using the organic products in the golf course.

To enhance the experience of the participants, the selected activities are planned for showcase the rich heritage and history of Thailand. The players will get a glimpse of some of the finest Thai traditions, arts, local food and attractions through the sport tourism event. 

“The activities of the entire event to welcome all participants are set for their most readiness to launch, especially the opening ceremony which is on December 6th. The opening scene will be the special show of ‘The Sound of Victory’ to announce greatness and readiness of the event organizing, followed by a parade of participants which led by Lt.Col. Wanchana Sawatdee on a horse as Ayodhya warrior ahead ancient soldiers and parade of Thai dancers to lead all Club Champions into the scene. We hope that this show will impress all of our honorable guests.” Dr. Panprapha Intrawityanant, the executive of Ayodhya Links has added.

The shortlist of honorable guests participating the event during the Championship week mostly are the influencers in golf such as : Gary Lisbon, the founder and president of GOLFSelect.com, a golf holiday specialist and a company that organizes corporate golf events and golf holidays, George Kim, the former president of The Club at Nine Bridges, Jeju Island, South Korea, Terry Jastrow, the producer/director of ABC sports and the founder of Jastrow Productions, Gordon Dalgleish, the co-founder and director of Perry Golf , Philippe Hermann is the CEO & chief editor of Green Grass Productions which publishes Golfers & Co, the most widely read travel and lifestyle magazine in Continental Europe which is published in French and English, and Joe Passov, the chairman of Top 100 Course Ranking panel.

Some of the 25 golf courses in the Top 100 list which are represented by their club champions are well-known as Major tournament host venues such as St. Andrews Golf Club and Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland, Oakmont Country Club, Merion Golf Club, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Riviera Country Club, Baltusrol Golf Club and The Olympic Club in USA, Royal St. George’s Golf Club and Sunningdale Golf Club in England as well as Real Club Valderrama in Spain.

4 players from Thailand including two players of Thailand national team - Kammalas Namuangruk and Sadom Kaewkanjana, together with Sombat Saengchati and Mr. Tsunemi Watanabe will represent Thailand, participated by Club Champions and players from 25 countries around the world such as Randy Haag and Kory Storer of The Olympic Club, Paul Moultrie and Michael Smyth of Royal Troon Golf Club, in the event which will be held for the first time in Thailand - the leading destination for tourism and golf in Southeast Asia.  

The three day tournament kicks off on Wednesday, December 7th for the First Round Qualifying 18-hole Four Ball Stroke Play. On Thursday, the top four teams at the end of the Second Round Qualifying 18-hole Four Ball Stroke Play will compete in the Semi Final which is Match Play. Final Round Match Play is on Friday, and other 21 teams will be in Chairman’s Division Tournament which is 18-hole stroke play. Chairman’s Stroke Play Winners will be invited back next year along with the Match Play Runners Up and the Championship team who will be awarded the Championship Trophy.
