Going with the curve

A CURVED 49-inch LED TV with sharp Full HD resolution, the Altron Curved LTV-4901 is the latest product of Thai Habel Industrial and comes with several improvements over earlier LED models.
Established in 1987, the Thai firm markets electrical appliances through its own brand as well as making OEM products for other brands. It is certified to ISO 9001L 2008 industrial standard requirements and also exports its products.
The LTV-4901 has 1920x1080-pixel resolution and good brightness. It comes with three HDMI ports for connecting to your Blu-ray disc player or satellite receiver.
It also has a built-in DVB-T2 digital TV tuner so you don’t need a separate set-top box. Thai Habel says the LTV-4901 has been certified by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand as reaching the highest level of power saving.
The LTV-4901 was easy to set up. I simply attached two small stands to its back and it was ready to be placed on the TV stand.
I connected its antenna port to my rooftop antenna and had no problem tuning into the digital TV channels. Thairath TV, 3 HD, PPTV and Amarin TV all looked sharp. The remote control allowed me to easily access electronic programme guides just by pressing the EPG button.
The TV's user-interface allows you to select picture and sound settings of the TV to suit your taste. There are four picture settings from which to choose –dynamic, standard, soft and user – and five sound settings – standard, music, cinema, sports, and user.
During the test, I enjoyed using the cinema sound and dynamic picture settings to watch TrueVisions’ HD movie channels. The pictures were sharp and colourful and the TV sounded loud and clear. The blackness level could not compare to OLED TVs or 4K TVs but it was more than adequate to enjoy the movies.
The 49-inch screen didn’t create the immersive experience but its curved display allowed me to easily watch the TV from the side.
Altron Curved LTV-4901 TV has a suggested retail price of Bt15,990. It is available at leading stores, such as Tesco Lotus, Power Mall Bang Kapi, Tha Phra, Ngam Wong Wan and Korat branches. It is also available online at Lazada.co.th.
