Access to news in English restricted in Thailand

Re: “If CNN so bad, then why watch it”, Letters, December 11.

Once again Dr Frank has displayed his repertoire of coruscating verbs and adjectives to say absolutely nothing.
Let me get this straight: the crux of my letter was that I want to see the international news but I don’t like CNN, so I would like a choice from UBC/True. The crux of his letter is that if I don’t like CNN, I shouldn’t watch it. Every time I read a letter from the Good Doctor, I feel like I have just been on a journey through the Twilight Zone.
He was correct about CNN anchor Kristy Lu. I assumed that she was British, and I was wrong. She has resided in Hong Kong for some time, though, so it was an honest mistake. As for presenter John Vause, I believe that Australia is still considered as part of the UK.
As for Songdej Praditsmanont, who also took exception to my criticism of CNN in a separate letter, I have no intention of staying up until after midnight every night so that I can see American reporters. It is still CNN and they are just as biased as the UK people.
If the doctor and Songdej like CNN, I am happy for them. It’s just that I would
like a choice and I don’t have one.
