After several years spent seeking enlightenment through various methods – including fasting – the former Prince Siddhartha attained awakening and became the Lord Buddha, founding the religion named after him.
It is unbelievable that, in Thailand today, a new sect using the name of the Lord Buddha is teaching Thais to seek the highest level of inner peace (nirvana) by paying a lot of money to the sect leader. This monk has been teaching Thais for many years that only by giving money to the sect can Thai Buddhists climb the ladder to nirvana.
The same monk lives like a prince in his temple. Everything he teaches is the exact opposite of the Lord Buddha’s wisdom of renunciation and simplicity.
Hence, this matter involves both national security and the Thai Buddhist faith. The government should deal with this impostor in a straightforward manner as demanded by the law.
There should be no more compromising with this person.
