With the Taiwan phone call, Trump got it right

Although it’s rare that I agree with Donald Trump, I’m a little miffed by how pro-rights liberals could criticise him for accepting a phone call from the president of a democratically elected government.
While China continues to be ruled by a bunch of tyrannical thugs, Taiwan has made enormous progress in terms of economic development and political freedom. I have been to Taiwan and I’ll never forget the hospitality of the people.
When it has reached the point where the Chinese think they can tell the next president of the United States who he can talk to on the phone, then maybe it’s time to re-evaluate our China policy.
