Teen idols in the 1990s, Pramote “Mote” Sangsorn and Somchai “Tao” Khemklad are long-time friends and have appeared in many films together, most memorably the blockbuster “Loke Thung Bai Hai Nai Khon Diaw” (“Romantic Blue”) in 1995.
Pramote, who’s been focusing more on short films in recent years, recently signed up to star in a TV series, his first. It’s the second season of “Tee Yai Dab Khruang Chon” on Mono Channel and he’ll again be working with his pal Somchai.
The last time the pair appeared together was in the short film “Mai Ru Man Khue Arai Tae Chob” (“The Unreasonable Man”) three years ago and they haven’t appeared in a TV drama together for almost two decades.
In this series, Pramote plays Ram the villain and seems to be Somchai’s sworn enemy.
The actor says he decided to join the series after being contacted by its director Peter Nopachai Jayanama. The two spoke at great length about his character.
“It's a character I have never been played before and I wanted to be a villain just once,” he says.
The second season follows Teeyai (Somchai) who is forced into the criminal world again after his wife dies in a fight between the police and the cartel.
The series has just started shooting. Its eventual airtime is yet to be announced.
