Fakery flare-up takes the fatuous further

Re: “Fake news infecting the Letters column”, Letters, March 8.

John De Laurent’s real or mischievously concocted letter to The Nation on Wednesday makes Pooterish “highly subjective” (oh, the irony) and sweeping generalisations regarding other contributors. He does, therefore, what he accuses others of doing.
Hypocrisy? Make up your own minds.
Interestingly, De Laurent’s mendacious jiggery-pokery reminds me of certain other and similarly fatuous outbursts found in this column from time to time, so nothing to write home about, then.
He further compounds his feral confusion by writing to a media organ which, he infers, is of somewhat low standing. So why bother to make a contribution? Fake news? How original.
You couldn’t invent it.
