“Mia Luang” (“The First Wife”) is another popular novel that is remade as a TV drama every four or five years, and now it’s coming back to the screen starring Warattaya Nilkuha as the first wife Dr Wikanda, Krissada ‘Smart’ Pornweroj as Anirut, the womanising husband and Cris Horwang as one of the minor wives.

Produced by the veteran actress Pornsuda Tainaukhong, the drama will air on Channel 3 later this year.
The story centres on a Wikanda, who suffers terribly because of her womanising husband. Some of the remakes have included overseas scenes, among them the movie version by the late director Vijit Khunavudhi, who shot in Japan. The time, Pornsuda has chooses Busan in South Korea as the location.

That’ allowed her to add Koop singer/actor Lee Jun, a former member of the popular band MBLAQ. He plays as a famous singer who is shooting for the Thai magazine run by Ornin (Cris) and she has to pretend to seduce him to make her lover Anirut jealous.
The shooting went smoothly thanks to Lee Jun’s acting experiences, which include playing a hitman in the action TV drama “Iris II”.
Actors from South Korea have become a popular addition to Thai productions. Eunjong from Tara girl band had a leading role in the recent movie “1.44 Puentee Rak”, while Jung Il Woo and Korean-American actor David Lee MacInnis starred in “Kol Rak Game Maya” (“What Lies Beneath”) made for True4U channel 24.
