Beachwear with an ’80’s feel

“California Dreamin’”, La Boutique’s latest collection brings to mind the vibrant flair of 1980’s California, giving it just the right feel for the period between spring and summer.

“This time around we have created a collection with a question. We wanted to probe deep within ourselves to find something unique, and do what the Thai fashion has never seen before,” says Patcharawat “To” Trakansantikul, the label’s creative director. “We want people to look into their feelings. When was the last time you felt the change in the season? What’s the difference between spring and summer?”

The spring Collection 2017 “Hyphy Dudette”, meanwhile, is inspired by the late actress Farah Fawcett with chic outfits recalling disco nights at a beach club. The colour palette draws on popular airbrush street art, fuelled by science and technology, with shocking pink, flamingo pink, cherry red, yellow mustard, cobalt blue, Egyptian blue and shimmering gold striking a definite summery note.

Beachwear has a flowing, light silhouette and accents the body-conscious concept. The collection includes some of the 1980’s iconic looks like semi-casual high-cut swimsuits, doll sleeve blouses, A-line skirts and wide sleeve casual blouses. Fabric are light, comfortable and yet textured and perfectly weighted in fabrics ranging from chiffon, lace, organza, silk, velvet and glittering spandex.
