Opera and tea at the Peninsula

Young musical stars from both Britain and Bangkok will be entertaining guests of the Peninsula hotel as they enjoy a tantalising afternoon tea on Thursday (April 6) starting at 2pm.

The creative combination of a high-class performance and fine Western cuisine will feature five singers from the Cambridge International Opera. They’ll be joined by a younger but inarguably talented contingent from the Classical Voice Department at Mahidol University’s College of Music.

The Cambridge opera boasts Britain’s best singers trained at Cambridge University. Mahidol’s Classical Voice Department, the first offering of its kind in Thailand, strives to produce professional singers and opera programmers. Its Thai students will gain a great deal from this chance to perform with gifted singers from United Kingdom.

The afternoon set tea costs Bt1,100 (Bt1,400 for two people). The opera performance takes place from 3.30 to 5.30 with an intermission.
