Loosely based on Thai history, “Khun Suek” focuses on life’s uncertainties, duty, gratitude and perseverance even when all seems lost. The central character is Sema (Atichart “Aum” Chumnanon), a patriot and a soldier. Life in the military doesn’t go well for Sema and he faces constant obstacles, not least when he falls in love with Rayrai (Cherman “Ploy” Boonyarak), the daughter of Khun Ram (Nirut Sirijanya) who looks down on Sema and is delighted when Rayrai is courted by the wealthy Khan (Worarit “Knot” Fuengarom). Sema, though, doesn’t give up, maintaining his love both for Rayrai and his country.
The drama, directed by Adul Boonbutra from production house TV Scene, also stars Pornchita Na Songkhla, Kiertikamol Latha, Kosin Rajakrom, Manasanan Panlertwongsakul and Sorapong Chatree.
