PTTEP believes that the “3Cs” (“cultivate”, “create” and “change”) strategy is an important principle to encourage the young generation to learn and recognise the value of natural resources and the environment and turn them into young conservationists.
The project, the theme of which is “Step up for Conservation”, focuses on creating consciousness of natural resources through working with a network of conservationists in each region on such activities as making artificial salt licks as a wildlife food source, learning about mangrove ecosystems, crab hatching and releasing them back to nature, visiting cultivation and agricultural innovations using the recycled material, making firebreaks and learning how to build a biogas pond.
The programme also includes bringing the philosophy of the sufficiency economy to the youth learning process to commemorate the graciousness of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The teenagers will be participating in activities with communities in the firm’s CSR projects and workshops to utilise their knowledge to create social contribution projects. The firm also provides opportunities for students to present their conservation projects to win scholarships for their implementation and create benefits for their communities.
The Teenergy Project is open to high school students or equivalent (aged not over 18 years old) nationwide. Seventy students from each region will be selected to join the camp. The Central and Southern region camps are open for applications from Tuesday (May 16) to June 15.
