Nigel Pike’s letter commending this page for its balanced view of President Donald Trump omits an important “detail”. Suppose there are 100 letters about a certain subject. Ninety-nine have a negative view and one a positive view. The Nation publishes two letters: the positive and the negative. Is this what Pike would call a balanced view of the subject in hand? I would call it biased, since it would camouflage the general opinion of the writers.
