Spanish pop quintet Dvicio will be performing at Muang Thai GMM Live House at CentralWorld on July 15, in a return to Thailand following their acclaimed debut last year.

Singer Andrew Ceballos Sanchez and his bassist brother Martin Ceballos Sanchez, guitarists Alberto Gonzalez and Nacho Gotor and drummer Luis Gonzalvo formerly played in the band Tiempo Limite, winning a competition with a cover of David Guetta and Sia’s “Titanium”.
In 2014 they were renamed Dvicio and signed with Sony Music, issuing the debut single “Paraiso”, which was No 3 on the Spanish charts. The album “Justo Ahora” followed soon after.
The outfit from Madrid took Thai pop fans by surprise by covering “Yoo Tor Loei Dai Mai” by Thailand’s own Singto Numchok, the video for which drew more than a million views on YouTube.
Encouraged by that success, Dvicio recorded Pang Nakarin’s hit “Khon Mee Saneh”, the lyrics rendered in a cool Spanish accent and shipped along with the endearing message “Hello, Thailand. Do you know this song? We want to give this song to you.” That one got a million-plus YouTube views within hours.
This year’s single, “Casi Humanos”, generated a lot of chatter too, led by the Twitter hashtag “#Dviciovuelataalmundo”. The song was released all over the world within a 24-hour timeframe, including on the social media. It features a multitude of celebrities. You can hear Russian singer Nyusha, Chilean model Catalina Alejandra Vallejos Sepulveda, Mexican pop star Mario Bautista, Argentinean actor Victorio D’Alessandro, Portuguese band DAMA and, from Thailand, Saksit “Tor” Vejsupaporn.
Tor has done his own Thai-language cover of Dvicio’s second single, “No Te Vas”, that appears on the group’s new album, “Que Tienes Tu”, to be released here on June 30. Fans can get it at https://BECTero.lnk.to/NoTeVas.
Seats for the July 15 show cost Bt1,900 to Bt4,900 at www.ThaiTicketMajor.com and (02) 262 3456.
