Bangkok-based artist Lesley Dumbrell examines the patterns of a grid in her new solo exhibition “Meridians” showing H Gallery on Sathorn Soi 12 from July 1 to August 27.

A leading member of the women’s art movement in Australia during the 1970s, Dumbrell’s longstanding practice of rendering patterns explore an expansive approach to abstraction.

Meridians also introduces new sculptural works that extend relationships between the perceptual and experiential. Dumbrell’s practice is primarily based in exploring diversity in the affective impact of colour, though which her compositional structures move and meld.

“Meridians” embraces the “pure” forms of mathematical precision and implied objectiveness allowing for cultural references and emotional impact: from the implications of textile design and decorative arts to the aesthetics of spirituality.

H Gallery Bangkok is open daily except Tuesday from 10am to 6pm. Find out more by logging on to http://HGalleryBkk.com or call (085) 021 5508.
