I have seen loads of corruption on the other side. Now I see some corruption on this side. But guess what? Unlike many critics on this forum, I comment on the faults on both sides.

NOW you see SOME corruption on this side.
Why is that do you suppose?
Is it that “this side” has only just now begun to dabble in corruption?
Or is it that you have only just now opened your eyes to the corruption of “this side”?
How is it that you can reel off every little piece of corruption, both real and imagined, of the “other side” but remain so unaware of the goings on of “this side”?
Is it because it doesn’t suit your narrative that democracy was overthrown to eliminate corruption? If corruption existed before Thaksin and corruption exists after Thaksin – why the coup? The corruption of “this side” has been going on for decades, from the time before Thaksin was even an MP.
Why do remain so blissfully ignorant?
The Internet is absolutely jam-packed with accounts of non-Shinawatra corruption.
Yet you remain ignorant of the facts.
Why do you think that is?

I personally hope that Thais will shake off the addiction to coups to solve political problems. It has been a self-perpetuating cycle in which one coup leads to another. The military may see themselves as playing a big role as an outside arbiter but they tend to take the same side and the huge political divide is never reconciled. Same goes for corruption, which they claimed to be tackling through reform, but they themselves are riddled with extensive allegations of corruption.
Instead of leading by example, the military chose to intimidate those who expose their corruption, protect themselves with an amnesty and continue to lack transparency and accountability.
