“The ‘Green’ concert is our annual show and Green Wave is the only radio station to organise a concert for 20 years in row in parallel with a charity. Our donations over the last 20 years now stands at Bt20 million,” says Saithip Montrikul na Ayudhaya, chief executive of A-Time Media, during a press conference.
“For this concert, we have selected three artists who we feel are role models for the country’s musical phenomenon. Pooh Anchalee was the best-known female rock star of the 1980s. Pod Thanachai was the pioneer of alternative rock in 1990s, and Parn Thanaporn made a phenomenon on social media with her songs related to women’s lives.”
DJs-cum-MCs Napaporn “Oy” Trivitvareekul and Witsawa “Pe” Kittankajorn invited all three artists to perform at the recent press conference and they did so with pleasure. Anchalee “Pooh” Chongkhadikij rocked the audience with her timeless hit, “Nueng Diew Khon Nee”, while Thanaporn “Parn” Waekprayoon showed her powerful voice on “Khon Mai Rak Dee” and Thanachai “Pod” Ujjin sang “Busaba.”
Guests at the concert will include Christina Aguilar, Aphiwat “Stamp” Ueathawonsuk, and Saowaluck “Amp” Leelabutr.
And as ever, part of the proceeds will go to a charity. This time, the funds will provide an automated external defibrillator (AED), a portable device that checks the heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm, to a rural hospital under the “Street Hero” project.
