Issey Miyake’s new totes and clutches play with triangles and wild metallic shades

WELL-KNOWN FOR its smart and funky designs, popular Japanese brand Bao Bao Issey Miyake has now introduced its new bag collection for autumn and winter 2017, which plays with triangular shapes, metallic colours and a diverse mixture of materials.
Fashioned from polyvinyl chloride, polyester, nylon, polyurethane and brass, the new series includes Lucent Inlaid totes and pouches featuring shiny triangular pieces, embedded with smaller satin-finish triangles. They are available in white, mustard and emerald.

Lucent Inlaid tote bags (Bt18,900) and clutch (Bt9,300)

For the Lucent Bug line, wormhole-like lines based on hand drawings have been engraved on the bags’ triangular pieces. The motif is inspired by ancient folk art, and appears to shift along with the movement of the bag. They’re available as classic tote bags and conventional small chain pouches in white, yellow and deep green.
The Platinum Bug collection offers classic totes and cross body-style bags with removable chain straps in mirrored material, shiny silver and gunmetal.
The Row Gloss creation debuts this season with brand new tote bags and chain clutches with a mesh base structure that makes them lightweight. They’re secured with a zip closure. The triangle pieces achieve an elegant and sleek finish in orange, white and greige. The Lander line includes new bucket bags with a matte finish and a round feminine shape, complete with a string closure and an adjustable shoulder strap.
Bao Bao Issey Miyake has branches at Siam Discovery, EmQuartier, Central Chidlom and Central Lat Phrao.
