New-wave jewellery brand Charming Realism celebrates love and childhood memories with two new collections of rings, earrings, pins and bracelets.
Designed by Darunotai “Maprang” Vajrodaya, one of the brightest rising stars in England’s jewellery design industry, the Charming Realism New 2017 Collection tells five love stories through animal motifs. The Little Romance rings represent romantic poetry while the Bitter Sweet line shows two birds fighting over a worm, which is curled up in a heart shape.
Early Grey & Malena bracelet
The La Vie en Rose line is inspired by Edith Piaf’s song of the same name, which talks about the joy of being in love. The roses, which surround a bird, represent love. The Lovebirds series, meanwhile, represents falling in love through rings for couples featuring two birds, symbolic of a loving relationship.
A simplified version of Lovebirds is a singular ring portraying the message “I’m single, but lovely” and the Birds & Bees selection is inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem, which talks about love freeing the emotions, like a bird flying in the sky.
Lemon Butter earrings
The In Love head jewellery draws on the English phrase “crowning with love”, meaning that falling in love feels like wearing a crown.
Accompanying the Charming Realism the New 2017 Collection is the Book Smart selection, which presents childhood memories of being surrounded by books. The rings are inspired by various novels, fables and philosophy books and can be worn singly or stacked like a pile of books.
