Teaming up to save New York
Marvel’s “The Defenders” premieres globally today at 2.01pm (Thailand time) bringing four Marvel’s heroes from four individual series to work together.
The series follows Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones) as they battle to save New York City. It’s a fascinating story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realizs they just might be stronger when teamed together.
Additional cast members include Academy-Award nominated actress Sigourney Weaver as the antagonist – the ancient organised-crime sect leader Alexandra – and Scott Glenn as Stick - the mysterious blind sensei who trained Murdock,
Murdock is one of the most resistant of the four to forming any kind of a team, largely because he has been hiding his identity in order to separate his normal life from his vigilante life. Iron Fist is a billionaire rich kid who comes from money and Luke Cage comes from nothing and is a person of the streets.
Marvel's “The Defenders” is executive produced by Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie along with Marvel TV's Jeph Loeb. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
