A migrant does not lose the right to comment on his mother country

Re: “A lose-lose situation”, Have Your Say, October 30.

Thanks to Robin Grant for springing to my defence. Letter-writers Simon Ordsall (October 25) and Noah Zarke (Oct 29) had a go at me for endorsing Brexit despite not living UK. Resident or not, I remain the citizen of a former self-governing nation, and I voted against ceding sovereignty to an unelected European dictatorship in 1975. I suggest to my two critics that my opinion has considerably more legitimacy than those of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, who expressed the opposite point of view in a very public, threatening and intrusive fashion, and neither of whom are British citizens.
