Before reading this revealing article on the film industry and the travails of Ben Affleck, Kevin Spacey et al, who have fallen foul of the social justice warriors, I was under the erroneous impression that Oscars were awarded for acting excellence. How wrong I was! We learn that acting ability is a mere pre-qualification for the awards, which are granted according to righteousness in the actors’ off-screen lives.
And thus the prestige of another harmless institution succumbs to the relentless tide of political correctness. How very sad.
