Tea in the gardens
Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort takes afternoon tea rituals to another space and time with the introduction of Bangkok’s very first designer tented Tea Salon by Escape Nomade, welcoming guests to experience a quintessential afternoon tea in the contemporary colonial setting of the resort’s lush gardens.
In keeping with old-world luxury, the feast unfolds with a wicker tea box brimming with afternoon tea favourites and selection of the finest teas. Afternoon tea connoisseurs and alike can look forward to perfectly decanted tea blend infusions recommended by tea sommelier or choose their own from the tea menu.
Guests can also try tea mocktails, cocktails and infusions from the Tea Bar, among them Ayurveda teas where spiritual wellness is inspired from the energies of three “doshas” – Kapha (earth), Vata (air) and Pitta (fire)..
The Traditional Afternoon Tea owes its origins to Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford who in the early 1800s sparked a passion to snack between two main meal. A truly British custom, the tea of bygone days featured finger sandwiches, fruits tarts, Victoria sponge cake and of course, English scones; and a selection of indulgent teas.
