I hope the readers follow Nigel Pike’s advice and look up the letters in which he says I “slandered” him. When seen in their proper context they will see my comments were totally appropriate. For example, when he defended Donald Trump after he made a speech calling the white supremacists “fine people”, Pike opened himself to the charges I made. Or when he uses a legitimate concern for crime as an excuse to attack immigrants he has no one to blame for my assumptions about him but himself.
Then Somsak Pola says I am too hard-hitting in my letters promoting vegetarianism. I can assure him that it makes no difference to my critics whether I write hard-hitting letters or gentle ones. The personal vicious responses on the websites are just as vicious and personal either way. But if you are an ethical person, Mr Pola, your views should be based on whether or not you think eating meat is moral and not on how you personally feel about me.
