Siam Paragon becomes a ‘Magic Castle’

Siam Paragon is celebrating “Twelve Glorious Years” in the retail business, and the fun began this week with a “Pride of Siam Gala” in the Hall of Mirrors on M Floor.

Siam Paragon is celebrating “Twelve Glorious Years” in the retail business, and the fun began this week with a “Pride of Siam Gala” in the Hall of Mirrors on M Floor.
A luxury shopping mall and a tourist destination for travellers from all over the world, Paragon has contributed to Thailand’s image and economy, a fact in which Chadathip Chutrakul takes great pride.
The president of Siam Piwat, which operates the mall, this week unveiled plans for the celebration, which continues through January 15.
The hall was elaborately decorated for the kick-off with floral arrangements created by Sakul Intakul, featuring not just blossoms but also fancy pots and ornaments and various objects crafted from banana leaves.
Singer Chontida “Plaeng” Assawahem performed and clothing designer Prapakas Ungsusing of the brand Prapakas put on an elegant fashion show that included jewellery masterpieces from leading makers.

The actresses and models – among them Woranuch “Noon” Bhirombhakdi, Taksaorn “Aff” Paksukchareon and Miss Thailand Universe Maria Poonlertlarp – wore Thai contemporary costumes as they portrayed 12 women from Thai literature.
Guests including valued customers got to dine on dishes created by the chefs from popular restaurants in the Gourmet Garden and elsewhere in the mall. Contributing to the feast were Amici, Chilli Thai, Clinton St Baking Company, Crab and Claw, Four Seasons, Harrods Tea Room, Honmono Sushi, Laduree, Mandarin Oriental, Mugendai, Paul, Signor Sassi, Townhouse, TWG Tea Salon & Boutique, and Vanilla Brasserie.
Star photographers Wasan Puengprasert and Pansiri Siriwetchapan took photos of the revellers and Station Customize Perfume custom-made scents for them as mementoes of the extravaganza.
“Global Entertainment” is a dazzling show continuing until January 2. It includes the Cartier Red Box, a box big enough to stroll through and see what the jeweller has on offer.

Next there’s “Christmas in the Wizarding World” from Sunday (December 17) through March 2. Warner Bros Consumer Products and GES, producer of “Harry Potter: The Exhibition”, are giving the touring show its premiere at Siam Paragon.
Visitors will be able to take photos in a wintry replica of the village of Hogsmead, admire magic wands of various powers, and have some interactive fun. Wizarding World merchandise will be on sale.
Redecorated for the holidays as “The Magic Castle”, the mall is decked out with Christmas trees, jingle bells and loads of light. In the main entrance is a huge white tree surrounded by a white pine forest and animal sculptures.
An “actual” magic castle is in the Jewel Zone, complete with a striking clock in a tower that will mark this year’s march into next. Its spiral staircase takes visitors to different rooms adorned with animated images. Behind it is where the wizards keep their owls, ready to carry greetings to one another.
