Once again, Dr Frank wraps up his ill-informed, shallow-thinking nonsense in pedantic, overwrought language that fools no one who possesses a smattering of intelligence. He disputes JC Wilcox’s claim that Muslims and Islam are not the same thing. I drive a pickup truck, so does that make me no different from a Ford Ranger? Furthermore, it is blatantly obvious that Islam is a political ideology, dressed up as a religion to inspire the fear of God in those who would transgress, and thankfully, the debate over this issue is finally making it into the mainstream media.
The main problem with Islam is the Koran. It has not yet been augmented with the equivalent of a New Testament, there has never been a Reformation, and Muslims urgently deserve a more benign road map to their God. With regard to Eric Bahrt’s vitriolic drivel, I challenge him to find anything in Buddhist scriptures that advocates death to unbelievers and atrocities against women, Jews and others, that compare with the 100-plus such verses in the Koran, particularly the bloodthirsty Medina verses written after Mohammed was ejected from Mecca.
Referring to the Koran as an “accursed book”, William Gladstone, four times UK prime minister, said in parliament, “So long as there is this book, there will be no peace in the world.” That was 200 years ago – and there hasn’t been.
