Proof burden is on those with supernatural claims

Re: “Arrogant atheists can learn a lot from questioning believers”, Have Your Say, March 1.

Scientists don’t claim to know all the answers about how the universe began. But, the founders of the Abrahamic religions and their followers do claim to have all the answers. Thus, the burden of proof should be upon the people who make these God-creation claims.
Eric Bahrt quotes Norman Mailer as saying that religion should not be about answers but about questions. However, religion is just about answers and not about questions.
And, just because a believer believes in a supernatural power does not mean that he or she does not owe a scientific explanation to be taken seriously.
