This year, seven teams are using Honda cars, including the NSX-GT in the GT500 class, Honda NSX GT3 in the GT300 class. Among all, Team Kunimitsu, No. 100, is the most watched as it has performed exceptionally well in the first three rounds and now hold the No. 1 ranking for both team and driver. Considering the readiness of the cars and drivers, I am sure that this year, the race will be even more fun and intense than before.”
“Chang Super GT Race 2018” is the 4th round for the 2018 season. Held from 30 June – 1 July 2018 at Chang International Circuit in Buriram province, the race will continue the momentum of excitement from the first three rounds held in Japan in April and May this year.
In 2018, the seven teams using Honda car include five teams in the GT500 class, including Autobacs Racing Team Aguri - No.8, Team Mugen - No. 16, Team Keihin Real Racing - No. 17, Team Epson Nakajima Racing - No. 64 and Team Kunimitsu -No. 100, which use Honda NSX-GT; and three teams in GT300 class, namely Team Modulo Drago CORSE - No. 34 and Team CARGUY Racing – No. 777, use NSX GT3.
The qualify round will be held on Saturday, 30 June 2018 and the final round on Sunday, 1 July 2018. The racers will have to compete in 66 rounds in the circuit which is 4.554 kilometres long and 12 curves. The total distance in this race is more than 300 kilometres.
Another highlight that Thai motor sport fans should not miss is the support race “Honda Racing 2018”. This year, 47 teams are competing in three classes, including Honda Pro Car, Honda Pro Car Modify and Honda Brio Cup. The winners will receive trophies and cash prizes with total value of over 750,000 million baht.
The participating team will make 2 races altogether. On 30 June 2018, from 9.00-9.40 a.m., the first race will be held for Honda Pro Car and Honda Brio Cup classes. At 4.30-5.10 p.m., the first race for Honda Pro Car Modify and the second race for Honda Brio Cup will be held. And, on 1 July 2018, the second race for Honda Pro Car and Honda Pro Car Modify will be held from 8.55-9.35 a.m.
To spice up the race, Honda Track Experience will be held for 50 new Jazz GK customers to have a real driving experience in Chang International Circuit on 1 July 2018. All participants have already passed a special training on basic driving skill held in an actual racing circuit as part of Honda Driving Clinic. The training was conducted with close supervision and coaching from professional coaches who have strong experience in national race level.
Motor sport fans also have a chance to join other fun activities and buy special souvenirs of Honda Collection at Honda booth in front of the Chang International Circuit, Buriram province, on both days.
