Australia’s Machiavellian wannabe leader must face court
For the sake of good governance, Australia’s Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton must be referred to the High Court. Without question his family childcare business, hiding behind a trust instrument has received $5 million from the government.
Dutton has shown himself to be a sly devious individual driven by self-interest. In a word he is quintessentially Machiavellian, and so why shouldn’t he be referred to the High Court like so many others? If he is found to be “clean”, okay, but otherwise his continued status calls into question the validity of all those ministerial decisions he has made and will continue to make in the future.
