Robin Grant is a hypocrite to pretend to support the RSPCA or the Soi Dog Foundation. For example, Grant has in the past attacked animal rights activists for campaigning against fox hunting. Yet the RSPCA has vigorously condemned that “sport”. And Soi Dog Foundation is actively involved in getting dogs spayed and neutered and urging people to adopt dogs, just like PETA does.
In fact no one who cares about animals would offer more concern for the well-being of breeders than for the suffering of the millions of stray dogs and cats who live horrible lives in the streets. The breeders are the root cause of this problem.
But the stray dog issue is only part of the problem. Many people abuse their pets. Just the other day I saw two dogs whose owner keeps them in a tiny caged box with virtually no room to move around in.
Still, there are many people who treat their pets humanely. Many members of PETA, including its president Ingrid Newkirk, have dogs or cats themselves. But even here the pets are totally dependent on their “masters” to feed them. But since dogs and cats are too domesticated to survive in the wild, benign ownership is the best option. But it’s still not a good option and it’s the fault of the breeders and the pet industry that we’re in this mess.
