Who watches the watchmen? Not the anti-corruption agency

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2018

I am afraid that a Johnsen has completely missed the point on corruption and the government’s inability to deal with it in the case of General Prawit Wongsuwan.

The No 2 of a military coup that cited rampant corruption as a reason to take over government has to be seen to be squeaky clean and honest to have credibility. The open flaunting of US$1.5-million worth of watches does not fit that scenario. The complete lack of desire by the national anti-corruption agency to properly investigate and announce a decision just compounds the problem. A thorough investigation might even have discovered far greater deceit.
