Tough opener for Luksika
Thai No 1 Luksika Kumkhum has been drawn against world No 15 Ashleigh Barty of Australia in the first round of the Australian Open which starts on Monday.
The 66th-ranked Thai, who reached a personal-best third round at Melbourne Park last year as a qualifier, holds a 1-1 head-to-head record with the Australian, who has also never progressed beyond round three at her home Major.
Luksika beat Barty at Wimbledon three years ago but the Australian got her revenge in Strasbourg last year, winning in three sets.
