A case of 'myth'-staken identity

Re: "No proof of black shirt existence", Letters, September 7.

Somsak Pola talks of myths. There are plenty associated with the red-shirt rallies. Such as: "The military fired down indiscriminately on to the crowd on several occasions (with high velocity rifles reported)."

In 1919 at the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, 50 British Indian Army soldiers fired into a crowd, killing 379 with 1,100 wounded in 10-15 minutes.

Even the inaccurate Thai Army managed to kill one of Mr Pola's mythical black shirts. The other myth he holds dear is that the red shirts did not destroy the city centre, which led to my conclusion about the Jews on "Crystal Night".
