Surachai to take a Look at Thai PL players

Thailand's German coach Winfried Schaefer, who has taken a week off to spend time in his country, has assigned his assistant Surachai Jaturapattarapong to gather information on players in the Thailand Premier League for next month's World Cup qualifier ag

The Thai side made an inspiring start to their WC qualifying campaign, taking group favourites, Australia, down to the wire in the 21 loss in Brisbane before notching up a welldeserved 30 victory over Oman at Rajamangala National stadium last week.

Thailand, who are in second spot after two matches, play third-placed Saudi Arabia, who are two points adrift of them, at home on October 11.

Despite an intertwining period of a month prior to the Rajamangala fixture, Surachai said the German trainer has already set up a plan for the Saudi side coached by former Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard.

"Schaefer returned home for a week but he asked us to take videos of players whom we are interested in. He also wants extensive report of each player for evaluation.

"We'll take a close look at the players in our list. Even though the team that beat Oman was our best possible squad, we are still looking at players who play on the left. Their inclusion might further strengthen the team."

Surachai also said the players would be called up for a training camp on October 3, three days before a tuneup match against Jordan at Rajamangala.
