Perhaps it is just me, but I found the picture of Thaksin - a fugitive from Thai justice - standing in front of the Thai flag on yesterday's front page rather unpleasant. It says several things, but the most clear is the contempt this egregious man holds for the concept of probity. He clearly sees nothing wrong in being a convicted criminal supposedly representing Thailand when he possesses no Thai passport; indeed I suspect he revelled in it. It also shows that his mate Hun Sen cares as little for the dignity of Thailand as Thaksin does.
