Level with us on the leadership

Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Yongyuth Wichaidit says that PM Yingluck isn't dominated by her brother and she makes her own decisions - despite Thaksin's hours-long phone-in to the Cabinet meeting.

Khun Yongyuth, how naive do you think we voters are? Wasn't a main Pheu Thai campaign promises: "Thaksin thinks; Pheu Thai acts" - even though it was Khun Yingluck, not Khun Thaksin, who was your candidate? You're just fulfilling your pledge!

Since it's her brother who's really running the show, no wonder PM Yingluck's main response to reporters is, "You have to ask the governor/minister involved; I never interfere with their work." It'd be nice, though if she'd deign to tell us her brother's --- er, her - long-term vision of where he/she plan to lead us over the next four years. When she announced her policies to Parliament, her policies were roundly criticized as being mainly short-term, and she hasn't done anything to remedy the situation. For example, the ASEAN Economic Community is just three years away, yet we're very unprepared for it. How will we upgrade our education system so  that our students know how to analyze and question, let alone speak English or Chinese with any degree of fluency? How will our small- and medium-sized enterprises cope with the flood of competitors who have been preparing for years?

Send Yingluck out to tour more flood areas and have Thaksin address the nation on where our unelected, but real, leader wants to take us.
