'Hostility' brings an end to injustice

Re: "Issues that stir the pot to boiling point", Letters, October 17.

Somsak Pola, who in the past has compared Abhisit Vejjajiva to Adolph Hitler, has the nerve to accuse people who write about veganism or Israel of stirring emotions and provoking hostility. Growing up in America when the two big moral issues were ending the Vietnam War and ending racial segregation, it was precisely because of people who stirred emotions by speaking out that those two great injustices were brought to an end. In fact, if people were afraid of provoking hostility by speaking out, then no injustice in history would have ever ended.
So I will continue to fight against cruelty to animals and humans with everything I’ve got, and those who don’t like it can lump it!
