Dear PM Yingluck Shinawatra, you might think you can fool some rural voters some of the time, but you can't fool all of Thailand all of the time.
We all know your stated election promise was to bring back Thaksin, and last week’s sly move to sneak him a pardon was nothing short of devious.
To come out now and tell us it was never your intention, nor were you aware of any such details just embarrasses you even more. So much for your brother’s latest plea for reconciliation when the country erupts in hysterics every time Chalerm opens his mouth.
We know Pheu Thai aren’t going to stop probing for an amnesty, but if you’re talking justice and “everything according to the law”, then I suggest you seek it in the courts, for your apparent landslide mandate doesn’t extend to making up your own laws. Last week’s uproar would have demonstrated to you that among the 60 per cent who did not vote for you, there is ferocious opposition to your bring-back-Thaksin plan. If you wish to survive your four-year term, you’d be well advised to take note of that.
