Thai Rath asked her what was the most she’d ever spent on one spree. About Bt1 million, Maen replied.
“But it was money I earned myself – I didn’t ask my parents for it.” Then that’s okay (we guess). Amid the flooding, Khunying Maen went shopping for relief supplies for people in puddles – not food and drinks, but underwear.
“People need clean underwear but it’s hardly ever donated. In a flood situation it’s difficult to wash your clothes.”
It’s a good thing the FLORC didn’t realise that. Otherwise there’d be a forgotten mountain of panties at Don Meuang Airport.
She’s heavenly
Urassaya “Yaya” Sperbund is putting her angelic looks to
good use starring in the Channel 3 soap opera “Game
Rai Game Rak” as a character named Nang Fah, which
means “angel”.
The series is a hit, so wherever Yaya goes, fans call her
Nang Fah. Co-star Naded Kumi is always getting asked,
“Where’s Nang Fah?”
Yaya once got in a lift with a man. When she got off at
the third floor, he said behind her, “I thought angels went
much higher!”
You can’t make up stuff like this, even on a soap opera.
Generous JYJ
Charity leaps national boundaries with ease once again as South Korean pop band JYJ donates Bt5 million to Thai flood victims through
the World Visions Foundation.
Park Yuchun, Kim Jaejoong and Kim Junsu, who of course have a lot of
fans here, wanted to give back some of that loving. Their money will be spent on non-food items distributed by the foundation.
The boys told a Seoul newspaper they were merely doing what they could to help and expressed hope that all their Thai fans can get back
to their normal lives soon.
These guys are sweeties: They also sent Bt15 million to Japan to build homes for people caught in the earthquake-tsunami disaster.
