Delayed by the flooding, the upcoming Baan Lae Suan Fair offers plenty of great ideas to rehabilitate your house
Opening next Saturday and running until December 25, the popular Baan Lae Suan Fair is likely to draw even bigger crowds this year as homeowners look for new accessories to renovate their nests after the recent flooding. It’s also a good place to check out the latest festive gifts and funky merchandise from local vendors as well as well-known brands.
One shining star is newcomer Room Collection, which is offering solid wood furniture and home furnishings under the concept “modern furniture for practical living”.
Operated by Amarin Publishing, the brand was inspired by popular home decor magazine Room and officially launched its first collection, called Love Wood, at the Bangkok International Gift and Houseware Fair.
“Writers for the magazine share their ideas and experiences in designing and developing products,” explains editor-in-chief Nuanwan Supertpanish. “We want to present the charm of Asian culture through our wooden furniture. This is a combination of woodcraft and modern design.”
This focus is on functionality, good design and joinery techniques while the main materials are ash, walnut, beach and teak to guarantee quality and durability.
The brand is debuting its new Love Wood Crafts designs at the Baan Lae Suan Fair, and will feature a range of furniture from its Y Series.
Highlights are the Y stool bar in natural wood, the Y tissue box, which showcases the grain of the wood and a Y seasoning container with curves.
“We want to show texture, structure and the grain of the wood as well as the skills of our veteran carpenters,” designer Kawin Tadtiam says.
Other products on display will be the comfortable Uni chair, the Uni table and a Mono sofa and lounge chair made from solid wood and upholstered in a woven textile.
