Buying gifts for school age kids on National Children’s Day, which this year falls next Saturday, is rarely a problem given all the educational and fun toys on the market. Finding something for the little ones isn’t quite so easy. If you have some tiny tots on your gift list, you may want to check out Mom Mories, where you’ll find a great selection of creative layettes, fashion apparel, toys and organic fragrant products from international and local manufacturers.

The boutique is in Siam Square Soi 1 and operated by Pur, which has been producing quality infant products for the Asian, European, Middle Eastern and South African markets for the last 40 years.

Two years ago, it expanded here in Thailand by opening Mom Mories and offers all sorts of functional items for newborns up to the terrible threes, as well as organic outfits and accessories for mums-to-be by international brands and local designers.

“Parents’ lifestyles have changed so much over the last few years. That’s why we are decided to pay more attention to the local market,” says marketing manager Janyaporn Sopapornamorn “We wanted to offer a place where mothers could share their experiences and consult knowledgeable staff.”

Furnished like a home with a comfy sofa, wooden furniture and plenty of teddy bears, the shop stocks plenty of merchandise for infants and babies. You’ll find feeding bottles, silicone breast shields, storage bottles, feeding glasses, spoons, forks, plates, bowls, plastic bibs, brush and comb sets, powder containers, manicure sets and more.

The bedding corner has cribs, high chairs, blankets, pillows, pillowcases, mattresses, cheesecloth diapers and sheets. Janyaporn says the best sellers are Flexi Bath’s colourful portable baths from America and cute sheep-leather socks by Jacklily from Canada.

Baby clothes and accessories come from local designers Fils, Milk T, Check Mate and Mini Coco and include body suits, jeans, skirts with flowers, t-shirts, shirts, suits, pants, shorts, shoes, hats, sunglasses and backpacks. The shop also presents a collection of creative toys by Bright Starts, Sassy, Tiny Love and Baby Einstein.

Mums-to-be will love the organic apparel and accessories in earth-toned cotton. The range includes blouses, pants, shorts, undershirts, waistcoats, shirts, skirts, shoes and canvas bags.

Another highlight is Lassig Fashion’s smart, waterproof shoulder bags that come with bottle holders and changing top, support belts by Gabrialla and sport baby carriers by Ergo Baby.
“We plan to import more organic products from New Zealand and Denmark this year.” Janyaporn says.

Mom Mories has a branch at Bangkok General Hospital and plans to open two more shops this year.
