Focus on solar energy

Nuclear power is neither renewable nor sustainable and can be devastating to human beings, nature and the environment. The process of nuclear fission, irrespective of the usage, poses unnecessary risks. The consequences of radiation exposure, especially f

Our global focus should be on promoting energy efficiency rather than nuclear power, with its related disadvantages: long-term radioactive waste disposal and safety/security issues; the dangerous risk of nuclear catastrophes; the limited availability of dwindling resources; plutonium’s vulnerability to potential terrorist attacks; and responsibly monitoring of nuclear weapons’ proliferation and storage containment.
Earth’s energy needs can be met through a mix of solar thermal power plants, natural gas and solar electricity. Many insightful policy-makers reconsider switching priorities to favour concentrated solar power (CSP) and furthering the generation and application of renewable energy, all of which make pragmatic sense. Relying on safer and saner alternative energy sources will ensure a more secure, relatively uncontaminated environment for current as well as future generations.
