And it’s pretty entertaining stuff, not rambling speeches.
The latest gigs at Impact Arena were set up so that the fans could get in close to Toon, and he told a multitude of hilarious jokes. The guy’s either a natural-born comedian or he’s got a very funny scriptwriter.
The problem with back-to-back shows, though, is that the material works only if you’re hearing it for the first time. So toward the end of Friday’s concert, Toon begged his fans not to share his gags on Twitter and Facebook. “I want tomorrow night’s audience to be as entertained as you were.”
And that’s why everyone who went to Friday’s show was acting kind of shifty the next day. Instead of raving about it online, they’d been sworn to secrecy!
Lethal goals
Does mankind really deserve Twitter? You have to wonder at the tweeting morons who concocted a link between Whitney Houston’s death and arsenal football hero Aaron Ramsey. To wit, every time Ramsey scores, someone famous dies.
Most people were still shaking their heads over Houston’s premature demise when a list of the coincidences started spreading online.
Last May Ramsey scored against Manchester United. The next day, US Special Forces killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan.
Then, on October 2, Ramsey scored against Tottenham Hotspurs, and within hours Apple icon Steve Jobs was dead.
On October 19 Ramsey scored against French team Marseille in the Champions League. The next day the Libyan tyrant Gaddafi was tracked down and killed. And this week, another goal from Ramsey spelled doom for Whitney.
Ramsey is wisely offering no comment on the string of coincidences, but investigators tracking the source of the tweets are narrowing the field down to Ramsey fans dismayed that his scoring triumphs always have to share the headlines with deceased celebrities.
