‘Pentor’ dogged by furry fame
“Pentor” the TV sitcom will live on in the form of numerous pets that have been named after the show’s main characters, Pentor and Porjai.
There are, most famously, two five-year-old Maltese dogs by those names at the Chaipak Dog Training School run by Wanchai Chaipak and his wife Nawaporn.
Nawaporn was addicted to the series when she got the dogs and named them after the human Pentor and his little sister Porjai. Then she got them a TV show of their own – the pooches appeared on “Sam Num Nua Thong”, another hit prime-time soap, using their own (borrowed) names.
“They’re very well trained since we got them when they were only four months old,” Newaporn says, “and the older one is male and the younger female, so it perfectly fits.”
And just like in the series, Pentor takes care of his little sister. They do an act in the Chaipak Dog Show that tours the malls, in which Pentor pushes Porjai around in a shopping trolley.
If you catch the pair in action, feel free to take photos, but they decline to sign pawtographs.
Let’s do this
Actors Chatayodom “Chai” Hiranyatithi and Sunisa “Vicky” Jett might have forgotten some key details from the past five years. They got muddled up when an interviewer asked how they first met. But they certainly remember Chai’s marriage proposal.
“We were so happy and we knew we were right for each other, but we never said a word about marriage,” Vicky explains.
That changed suddenly during a holiday in France. Maybe Chai ate one of those famous French aphrodisiacs, but more likely it was the setting – the breathtaking Palace of Versailles. On the last day of their trip, separated from their group, Chai blurted out, “I love you!”
He said that every day, though, so Vicky didn’t immediately catch his drift. “You make me so happy,” Chai persevered. “Will you marry me?”
Vicky briefly raised the “Are you sure?” flag, but
