TAT delisted resort after vindictive call

The Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) website is 80 per cent about golf and high-end resorts, but I guess that's okay, even though 80 per cent of potential visitors to Thailand are not particularly interested in golf or expensive resorts.

However, I know of a fun outdoor tourist venue that used to be listed with TAT, but is no longer listed with them. The reason: a disgruntled former employee said bad things about the venue to TAT. He happened to have a friend who apparently had VIP connections who made the call. TAT responded by nixing the venue’s listing, with no communication with the venue’s owner or management. Conclusion: one well-connected person (who had never experienced the venue firsthand), got the venue banned from TAT with a phone call. It shows that TAT can be swayed by one vindictive person. The result is hundreds of families may miss out on a wholesome, enjoyable, low-cost, out-in-nature experience. Thus far, TAT has not responded to any inquiries in this regard. If they decide to respond, they can e-mail [email protected].
