Acclaimed movies from Spain and Hong Kong unspooling in competing events at Paragon and CentralWorld
Bangkok’s movie-goers have the chance to catch some great non-mainstream movies this week and next at two festivals offering films from Spain and Hong Kong, and both have free admission.
Starting today and running until Wednesday, New Spanish Film Week is being held at Paragon Cineplex. All award-winning movies from the past year or so, the seven movies will screen nightly at 7.
The Hong Kong Film Festival screens 10 movies over four days at SF World Cinema at CentralWorld. It runs from Friday to Monday.
The opener of New Spanish Film Festival is the Oscar-nominated animated feature “Chico & Rita”. The musical romance is set in 1948 Cuba and follows a young piano player and a beautiful singer as they chase their dreams from Havana to New York and Las Vegas.
